VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach Police Department has identified the suspect who allegedly stole an ambulance and led officers on a chase Tuesday evening.
Christopher Allman, 33, was charged with grand larceny, felony eluding, felony destruction of property, impersonation of EMS personnel, tampering with an EMS vehicle and maliciously activating a fire alarm.
According to the Virginia Beach Police Department, officers responded around 7 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a stolen ambulance from Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
The officers found the stolen ambulance and started pursuing it, during which they were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices. The ambulance eventually drove onto the sidewalk and collided with a building pillar on Laskin Avenue, the police department said.
