The stabbing happened on May 1 by the side of North King Street. Police said Battaglia suffered seven stab wounds to the face, a brain injury, and severe damage to her eye socket, nose, and jaw.

Battaglia said she has no memory of the actual attack due to her brain damage, but she can remember the moments leading up to it. She said an argument with her husband about a crashed car quickly spiraled out of control.

She spent the next several days recovering in the hospital.
