VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Authorities are searching for a man accused of assaulting a woman at her Virginia Beach home after following her through a store on Monday.
The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) shared on X that the "simple assault" happened on Putnam Road.
The suspect allegedly followed the woman through the store and into the parking lot. There, police said he made "lewd comments" to the woman.
Police said the woman continued home, unaware the man was still following her. The suspect allegedly assaulted the woman at her front door.
Police have not said what condition the woman is in.
Surveillance video shows the suspect wearing glasses, a black hair covering, a red long-sleeve shirt, jeans and boots. He was also seen driving a white four-door Buick sedan with Virginia tags on the back.
