VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A grand jury has indicted two men in the case of an 8-year-old boy shot in the head by a stray bullet in Virginia Beach.
In one of the city's most high-profile shootings of 2024, a stray bullet struck Landyn Davis in the head while he was in his Peele Court home playing video games back in February. He spent weeks in the hospital learning to walk again before being released to an outpouring of community support.
On Monday, formal charges were brought against Tori'Yon Cook and Jawuan Jeffries. A grand jury indicted each of them for aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, conspiracy, and 24 counts of discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling.
Two other suspects in this case are waiting on their preliminary court hearings.
