NORFOLK, Va. — A man is facing charges following an overnight barricade situation in Norfolk, police said.
Norfolk police said officers were called to the 3200 block of Kimball Terrace around 8:30 Saturday night for a report of a person with a weapon. Arriving officers learned a 29-year-old man had assaulted a 55-year-old man and then barricaded himself inside of a home.
The 55-year-old man was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
Norfolk police said its Hostage/Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Operations Team were called to the residence. Shortly before 2:30 Sunday morning, 29-year-old Jaqua Tann was taken into custody without incident.
Tann is charged with malicious wounding and robbery. Police said he also had outstanding warrants on unrelated charges.
Tann is currently being held without bond at the Norfolk City Jail.
