CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A juvenile was convicted of first degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of murder on Wednesday for the 2022 murder of Rashee Parson.

The juvenile, not named by the office of the Chesapeake Commonwealth's Attorney, was tried as an adult. The Commonwealth's established that Parson, 24 at the time, was standing outside of an apartment in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive, when the defendant and co-defendant (also not named) passed by, greeted Parson. Moments later, the two turned around and began shooting, with no additional interaction or confrontation. Parson was unarmed.

An autopsy determined Parson was shot twenty times. While both suspects fled, the convicted juvenile's cell phone data placed him at the scene of the crime once he was arrested.

The juvenile will face a sentencing hearing on Feb. 27, 2025. He faces life in prison.
