NORFOLK, Va. — A high-speed police chase with a motorcycle early Thursday morning ended in a crash and the teenage suspect in custody.
Virginia State Police said the pursuit began just after midnight when a trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle that was seen going over 100 miles per hour on Interstate 264, east of Independence Boulevard in Virginia Beach.
The motorcycle refused to pull over, and police followed as the suspect continued on I-264 West toward Norfolk.
State Police said the rider lost control shortly before Ballentine Boulevard and was thrown from the motorcycle, but was able to get up and flee on foot.
The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was taken into custody a short time later and charged with reckless driving and felony elude. His name has not been released, due to his age.
Police said the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Norfolk.
