HAMPTON, Va. — Police investigators in Hampton are hoping tips from the public will help them identify the suspect in an overnight homicide.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, officers patrolling in the area of Orcutt Avenue and Goldsboro Drive heard gunshots and then found an injured man in the road, according to a release from the Hampton Police Division.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue.
Detectives with the division's Major Crimes Unit are still trying to figure out the circumstances of the shooting and a possible motive.
