ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Elizabeth City police recovered six firearms while responding to a report of three masked individuals that were masked Friday afternoon.
Shortly before 2:45 p.m. Friday, the Elizabeth City Police Department learned of three armed men wearing facemasks near the corner of Harney and Cypress streets.
Officers said the suspects ran from the scene toward Factory Street before they arrived, prompting a search of the area. That search turned up two long guns and four handguns.
Police said no one was injured in the incident.
There's no word on any arrests or what led up to the incident at this time.
