GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. — A Mathews County man was arrested for firing shots in a road rage incident in Gloucester County last month, deputies said on Tuesday.
The incident happened on Jan. 27. Around 6:18 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 6300 block of George Washington Memorial Highway in response to a road rage incident that resulted in a shooting, according to the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office.
The victim told deputies that the suspect was driving recklessly and following close behind flashing lights. Shortly after, the suspect pulled up beside the victim's vehicle pulled a gun, and began shooting.
The Gloucester County Sheriff's Office said a 5-month-old baby was present in the back seat of the shooter's vehicle during the incident.
Deputies identified the shooter as 27-year-old Dylan Kemper Hicks, who was arrested and charged with maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle, shooting from a vehicle, and felony child neglect.
The victim did not sustain any injuries. However, the victim's vehicle sustained damage from the shooting.
