FRANKLIN, Va. — 46-year-old Brandon Wayne Lockhart of Franklin was arrested and charged on Thursday for possessing child pornography, officials say.
Franklin police say they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in September regarding child porn that had been uploaded online.
After a police investigation, a suspect in the case was identified.
On Thursday, detectives applied and obtained a search warrant for a home in the 100 block of Pocahontas Street.
During the search, multiple items were taken and found to include images of child porn. Lockhart was taken into custody and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography.
He was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail where he is held without bond.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
