YORK COUNTY, Va. — A traffic stop in York County landed a Florida man in jail on drug and weapon charges Tuesday, authorities said.
In a release, the York County Sherriff's Office (YCSO) said 37-year-old Nicolas Diesel-Reynolds of Cape Canaveral, Fla., was pulled over on George Washington Memorial Highway at around 8 p.m. Officials have not said what initially prompted the traffic stop.
Once pulled over, the deputy discovered Diesel-Reynolds was driving without a valid license which was previously revoked for driving while under the influence convictions.
The deputy also discovered illegal narcotics inside the vehicle, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Diesel-Reynolds was subsequently arrested and booked into the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
He is accused of the following charges: felony possession with intent to distribute heroin, two felony counts of illegal possession of a controlled substance, a fourth felony offense of driving under the influence of drugs, felony driving on a revoked operator’s license, misdemeanor concealed weapon and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
