SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk police responded to King's Fork High School on Friday for a report of gunshots fired. Instead, authorities said, they discovered that the sound had come from someone setting off fireworks in one of the bathrooms.
Suffolk Public Schools said no one was injured, and there was no significant damage to school property, but out of precaution, King's Fork High School and Middle School were placed on a Hold, requiring hallways to be cleared and all students to remain in their classrooms. Both schools had resumed regular operations as of 1:57 p.m. Friday.
Parents were alerted with an initial notice about the incident.
