ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Elizabeth City police are searching for a man they say is responsible for shooting another man.
Police received the call around 7:05 p.m. Saturday for a person who had been shot.
When police arrived at the scene in the 900 block of Hunter Street they found an adult man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, identified as 40-year-old Eric Eugene Johnson, Sr., was taken to Sentara Albemarle Hospital for treatment. There is no information about his condition.
The Elizabeth City Police Department is still investigating. Police are looking for Curtis Donnell Brinkley, 38, in connection to the shooting. He's considered a person of interest.
