EDENTON, N.C. — Police in Edenton, North Carolina, announced on Friday that they had made an arrest in a two-year-old murder case.
19-year-old Kavondre Dillard was arrested in Portsmouth, Virginia, last month. Police say he's charged in the shooting death of Dwayne Gregory Jr. Gregory was shot on Cox Avenue on the night of May 18, 2022.
Edenton police said the case went cold, but with the help of the FBI's Manteo office, investigators were able to develop probable cause for an arrest warrant for Dillard.
Dillard is charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held in North Carolina on a $1 million bond.
