VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A 22-year-old Virginia Beach man was shot to death Saturday night.
Police say 22-year-old Devontai Michael Snowden was found in the 1000 block of Sea Cove Court just before 9:10 p.m.
"I lost a good friend, a good guy, and he would help anybody," said Antoine Chavis.
A woman who said she knew Snowden's family said the atmosphere at Atlantis Apartments is often rowdy and that there are a lot of arguments in the community.
"I'm blessed to have a roof, but that's as far as it goes for me," she said. "I'm not comfortable walking, and I'm definitely not comfortable sitting outside."
"A stray bullet could have hit any one of these children, so it's not fair, so we just need to get together, stick together and get it out of our community," Chavis said.
Police have not released any more details about the incident.
