GATES COUNTY, N.C. — The Gates County Sherriff's Office announced a countywide emergency call to stay away from US 13 S and Barfield Road due to an active barricade situation but has updated that they have a person in custody.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Hertford County Sheriff's Office were on the scene of a barricaded subject. They took the subject into custody and roads have reopened.
The Sheriff's Office says more information will be provided when it becomes available.
