CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A 30-year-old man shot multiple times in Chesapeake overnight died from his injuries, authorities announced Sunday.
Shortly after 3 a.m., the Chesapeake Police Department (CPD) was called to Coveside Lane near Interstate 64 to investigate reports of shots fired.
Once at the scene, officers found Jeremiah Casarez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The 30-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are looking for Darnell Barnwell, 39, who CPD is believed to be a person of interest and was last seen driving a black Hyundai sedan. Officials did not say how Barnwell was connected to the incident, however.
