NORFOLK, Va. — A Chesapeake man was sentenced to six years in prison for drug and gun charges.
This conviction comes after Travis Morris, 39, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin and possessing a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
According to court documents, Morris distributed fentanyl and heroin from November 2022 through June 2023. He also sold a mixture of fentanyl and heroin to a confidential informant on multiple occasions.
On June 3, 2023, Chesapeake police conducted a traffic stop on Morris and searched his car with a K9. Police found 120 white capsules of heroin and fentanyl mixture, digital scales, a .22 caliber pistol, two cell phones, and almost $4,000 in cash. Morris' girlfriend and three minor children were also in the car during the traffic stop.
Prosecutors said the total weight of fentanyl and heroin recovered by police is 26 kilograms.
