CARROLLTON, Va. — The person suspected of shooting and killing a man last year in Isle of Wight County has been taken into custody, the Isle of Wight County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.
23-year-old Travis Lewis Wilson of Brooklyn, New York, was taken into custody in Newport News by the US Marshals Service.
Wilson, who goes by the nickname "Nino Gambino", is charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and malicious shooting.
The charges stem from a shooting on Nov. 3, 2023, in the Carrollton area of Isle of Wight County. Deputies said they were called to Smith's Neck Road around 5:30 p.m. for reports of a possible shooting victim.
When the deputies arrived, they found 30-year-old Marvin Guillaume-Sam of Flushing, New York, with multiple gunshot injuries.
Following an investigation, deputies identified Wilson as a suspect in the shooting. Both men are from New York, but investigators have not said if they knew each other beforehand or what may have led to the shooting.
Wilson is currently being held without bond at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
