NORFOLK, Va. — A man is behind bars after shooting another man near a nightclub in Norfolk early Sunday morning, the Norfolk Police Department (NPD) said.
The NPD was notified of a shooting at the Broadway Club located on East Virginia Beach Boulevard at around 2 a.m. The victim was not at the scene when officers arrived, however.
Police said a man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound then arrived at Sentara Leigh Hospital. Detectives confirmed he was the victim in the East Virginia Beach Boulevard shooting.
Luis Martino-Rosario, 34, of Chesapeake was arrested at the scene in connection to the incident. He was booked into the Norfolk City Jail on charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm and discharging a firearm in public.
There's no word on the circumstances leading up to the incident or if the victim knew the suspect.
