NORFOLK, Va. — A 45-year-old man is recovering in the hospital following an early morning shooting on Tuesday.
According to the Norfolk Police Department, they received reports about someone shot on the 900 block of Newell Avenue around 1:25 a.m. on Tuesday.
When officers arrived, they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital.
After an initial investigation, authorities said they took a 14-year-old boy into custody and charged him with malicious wounding, use of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
