PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police say two people were injured in a shooting early Sunday morning on Effingham Street.
Reports of a shooting in the 400 block of Effingham Street were reported to police just before 2 p.m., according to a release from the Portsmouth Police Department (PPD).
At the scene, officers found a woman with a gunshot wound, and medics took her to a local hospital for treatment.
Later, police learned another person who had been shot during the same incident had shown up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police say the injuries to both people were not life-threatening.
The criminal investigation into this shooting is ongoing, and police have not shared any other details.
