SMITHFIELD, Va. — Two men have been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony for a robbery of a 7-Eleven convenience store in December 2023, the Smithfield Police Department said.
Brandon Gibson of Norfolk and Christopher Orbeta of Chesapeake were identified as the suspects. Police said Gibson confessed to the robbery on Dec. 2.
An investigation revealed the two men were involved in a robbery in Surry County on Dec. 5, plus a robbery spree on the Eastern Shore on Dec. 7. Police said they robbed five different locations during that crime spree.
Gibson and Orbeta were arrested following a pursuit. Both men are facing charges of robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Both Gibson and Orbeta are being held without bond.
