VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Two men were arrested in Virginia Beach early Thursday morning for allegedly committing a robbery and shooting a man.
The Virginia Beach Police Department said Jalen Patterson, 30, and Wendell Patterson, 33, were both charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of shooting in the commission of a felony.
Wendall was also charged with being a felon with a firearm, according to police.
The investigation began around 12:45 a.m. when Virginia Beach dispatchers got a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Gaineford Court, which is close to Ferrell Parkway and Pleasant Valley Road.
Police officers responded and found a 36-year-old man who had been shot. Medics took to a hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
Investigators think that the shooting originated out of a robbery. Police didn't specify what was being robbed or how the shooting unfolded. They were able to get descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle.
Police were able to find the vehicle and pulled the two suspects over, taking them into custody.
