NORFOLK It's been nearly three months since ODU student Chris Cummings was shot to death at his off-campus apartment.
Just last week, 13News broke the story that a person of interest was recently questioned by police. However, no arrests have been made.
On Monday, his uncle, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-7th District, Maryland) came to Norfolk to talk about the investigation and spoke with students outside the W. 42nd Street house where Chris had lived.
'We knew about this person of interest. It was our understanding it took police a while to find him. We are pleased to hear that person has been found,' he said.
Cummings, 20, was killed there on June 10; his roommate was wounded.
Rep. Cummings pleaded for people to keep giving information to catch the killer before someone else gets hurt.
'Whoever the persons are who did this will do it again. You don't kill someone that viciously and not do it again,' Cummings stated.
He also reminded students to be careful who they associate with and to be safe when walking on and off campus.
Anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
