USNS Supply returns to Norfolk after 8-month deployment

The Combat Logistics Force vessel returned to Hampton Roads on Saturday for a homecoming at Naval Station Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Va. — The USNS Supply (T-AOE-6) returned home to Norfolk after an eight-month deployment.

The Combat Logistics Force vessel returned to Hampton Roads on Saturday for a homecoming at Naval Station Norfolk. The ship played a critical role as the fast combat support in the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group as part of efforts of Operation Prosperity Guardian in the Red Sea.

"As part of the U.S.-led multinational coalition, Supply’s role was pivotal to keep the Fleet in the fight and ensure freedom of navigation for all countries to bolster regional security and prosperity," a press release from the U.S. Navy said.

Over its 247 days of deployment, Supply served as the only fast combat support vessel, which was responsible for performing 143 underway replenishments with 16 Navy and 15 coalition ships from several other countries.

The Supply returned home to Navy Station Norfolk on Saturday afternoon.
