NORFOLK, Va. — The South Norfolk community in Chesapeake is buzzing with excitement as several events are planned to bring residents together and support local causes.
These events, organized by Hope for SONO Foundation, aim to foster community spirit and provide much-needed resources to families and individuals in the area.
The first event is a prayer walk scheduled for this Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. The walk will begin at the Chesapeake Christian Center on Liberty Street.
This prayer walk is an opportunity for residents to come together in solidarity, offering prayers and support for the community's well-being. It’s a chance to connect with neighbors, share in collective hope, and reflect on the needs and aspirations of South Norfolk.
In addition to the prayer walk, the Chesapeake Christian Center will host a school supply drive on August 17. As the new school year approaches, many families face the challenge of securing necessary supplies for their children. This event aims to alleviate that burden by providing essential school items to students in need. The drive is not just about handing out supplies; it's a celebration with a variety of activities designed to engage and entertain the community.
Attendees can look forward to more than just receiving school supplies. The event will feature food, haircuts, and live music.
