Christmas Eve meals, presents provided to to homeless in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. — The Grinch's heart surely grew three sizes this Christmas as he helped hand out presents to more than 100 people, including children, experiencing homelessness in Norfolk.

For the last 13 years, the Bruce Jones Love Ministry and Karen Tanner Ministries have been hosting homeless individuals for the holidays and providing them with warm meals. And this year was no different.

Individuals gathered at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza Sunday afternoon to sit down for an early Christmas Eve meal.

Guests were also greeted with a surprise visit from the Grinch who had "blessing bags" that contained coats and blankets in tow.

"The Grinch who stole Christmas is coming to give it back and bring holiday joy and gifts to the homeless and feeding the community," organizers said.

The ministries also partnered with REACH, a program that promotes children's literacy, to bring books to both the children and adults at the events.
