NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Newport News Powerball winner had an extra dollar for the Powerball Power Play, and it paid off big time!
Teresa Fletcher bought her winning ticket at Luckies Convenience Store located at 6210 Chestnut Avenue in Newport News. Purchasing the Power Play quadrupled her winnings!
Her original lottery prize for the January 26 drawing was only $50,000, but Fletcher was able to walk away with $200,000!
The winning numbers were 8-12-20-21-32, and the Powerball number was 10. Fletcher matched the first four numbers and the Powerball.
She picked her lucky numbers by using family birthdays.
The odds of matching all six numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. The overall odds of winning any Powerball prize are 1 in 25.
