NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- We're in the midst of the holiday season, and it's a time to remember those who've sacrificed to protect our freedom.
That's why each December "Wreaths Across America" coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 other locations in the U.S., at sea, and abroad.
"It's really a great way to unite everyone behind one cause that's bigger than ourselves, just like the service members who fought and died for this country," said Director of Communications Bre Kingsbury. "They believed in something bigger than themselves and we just want to honor and support them."
Kingsbury says they're still short 25,000 wreaths.
