NORFOLK, Va. — A regional effort aims to help people get back to work in the Seven Cities!
On Thursday, the Hampton Roads Workforce Council held the first of two events in its Portsmouth-Norfolk Hiring Expo Series.
Organizers said the hiring expo is meant to connect employers with quality candidates in Hampton Roads, and also offers job seekers the chance to participate in preparatory workshops that offer resume help, access to professional attire, and more.
More than 90 employers will be represented at the hiring event, including Amazon, Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, Hampton Roads Transit, and Lyon's Shipyard.
The first event was held Thursday at the Tidewater Community College Norfolk campus. The second event is scheduled for February 15, 2024, at the TCC Portsmouth campus' student center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
