Norfolk, Virginia Beach: City offices are open, but courts will be closed today.

Schools
Chesapeake, Suffolk, Virginia Beach: Schools are open today.
Norfolk: Schools are closed today for students only.
Portsmouth: Schools are open today but with early release for students.
Garbage
Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach: No change in collection schedule.
Portsmouth: Trash normally picked up today will be collected Wednesday.
Travel
HRT: Today, buses and light rail will operate on a regular schedule. Call 222-6100.
Post offices are closed today, with no regular mail delivery.
Libraries
Norfolk, Virginia Beach: Libraries will be open today.
Chesapeake, Suffolk, Portsmouth: Libraries will be closed today.
Recreation
Norfolk, Virginia Beach: Rec centers will be open today.
Chesapeake: Community centers will be open from 2 to 6 p.m. today.
Suffolk: Rec centers will be open for before- and after-school programs only.
Portsmouth: Rec centers will be closed today. The 6 to Six program will operate from 6 to 9 a.m. and from 12:30 to 6 p.m.
State offices
