VIRGINIA BEACH -- A jury will now hear evidence in the trial ofa Va. Beach paramedic accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.
Steven Mark Frick is accused of aggravated sexual battery, forcible sodomy and object sexual penetration of the girl, who is younger than 13.
Authorities said the girl told an adult she'd been sexually assaulted by a family acquaintance at her home and at Frick's home.
Frick has been on administrative suspension since the charges were placed.
Instead of a bench trial that was set to begin Tuesday,Frick's attorney made the request for a jury trial, which was granted.
The trial is set forApril 27.
