NORTHAMPTON -- A drug sweep in Northampton County on Wednesday led to 21 people being taken into custody after they were implicated in sealed indictments on drug charges.
Three more suspects are wanted on cocaine charges and Northampton County Sheriff David Doughty has asked the public to contact authorities if they are located.
Jaron Devontae Nottingham, 24, of Cheapside, indicted on two counts of distribution of cocaine; and Larry Davawn Nottingham, 32, of Cheriton and Pierre Jamal Brickhouse, 30, of Treherneville, who each were indicted on one count of distribution of cocaine, remain at large.
Doughty asked that people who know their location call the Eastern Shore Drug Task Force at 757-414-0746 or the Northampton County Sheriff's Office at 757-678-0458.
The task force, a combination of Accomack and Northampton sheriff's office personnel and the Virginia State Police, was assisted by 15 Northampton deputies when it began serving the indictments at 6:30 a.m.
The charges were pursuant to a seven-month-long investigation by the task force, Doughty said.
In addition to the 21 arrested on drug charges, two were arrested for outstanding warrants for assault and child support.
