NORFOLK -- 13News Now Anchor Regina Mobley was honored for her service to the Hampton Roads community.
She joined a dozen other people honored in the First Annual Living Legends of Hampton Roads Black History Month Celebration on February 28.
'We are so happy to see Regina receive this well deserved recognition. We thank the event organizers for honoring Regina's outstanding work in our community, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of the honorees for making this a better place to live and work,' said ABC13 General Manager Brad Ramsey.
Organizers say this community-sponsored event showcases local 'Superstars' who are respected for their professional achievements and acknowledged for their community service and who serve as role models. This is an opportunity for the youth to see that where we begin is not as significant as where the road travels and end, officials stated.
'I am truly honored to have been selected by this distinguished panel. This would not have happened without the support of the people of Hampton Roads who have allowed me into their hearts and homes to report on their lives during times of triumph, but more often during times tragedy,' Mobley said. 'I am grateful to the scores of families and organizations that have trusted me to be fair and accurate in presenting the stories from our region.'

The recognition and celebration was held at Gethsemane Community Fellowship Church in Norfolk.
