VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach is on a mission to expand affordable housing options and is turning to local nonprofit and religious organizations for help. The city is seeking information on available land that these groups might be willing to contribute to this cause.
From seniors and families to veterans and young adults transitioning out of foster care, many residents are in desperate need of affordable housing, according to a release from the city.
That's why the Virginia Beach Housing & Neighborhood Preservation is calling on nonprofit and religious organizations to share their land to help address the critical shortage of affordable housing. Their contributions could be pivotal in providing homes for those in need.
Community members are reminded that this is just a request for information, with no money being given out or commitment required from those who respond.
More details about the RFI and the required response form can be found at VirginiaBeach.gov/HousingRFI.
Interested organizations must complete and submit the RFI response form by 5 p.m. on Aug. 14.
