Does it Work: Bumpits

Erin Coari says she doesn't spend a lot of time fixing her hair. She tried Bumpit to see if the inserts will give her hair a lift without a lot of fuss.

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Erin Coari doesn't spend a lot of time fixing her hair.

"Usually I'm the pull it up in a ponytail type of girl or throw the head band on," she says.

Bumpits sounded appealing. The hair volumizing leave-in inserts claim to turn your hair from flat to fabulous in a few seconds.

"My hair is fine anyway, so getting a little extra volume is really nice," Coari adds.

There are about seven different styles in the instruction manual.

First, she chose the head-banded bumpit.

She followed the instructions, which told her to insert the bumpit firmly on the scalp behind the part line and then pull hair down to hold bumpit firmly in place.

While trying it, she realized she needed a smaller bumpit, so she tried again using the medium size.

"It's almost like if you put a tight barrett in your hair," she noted.

She secured the hair over her bumpit with some hairspray.

Then one more step to complete the look.

"It's doing what it's suppose to be doing, but my hair isn't long enough for it to stay. Let me throw the headband in and see what it looks like," she stated.

Coari says not too difficult either.

She admits it creates a style that she wouldn't wear every day.

"It's great for special occasions or when you want to look a little extra girly," Coari notes. "It does work. I like it."

Bumpit costs $10.00 for a package of three.
