NORFOLK, Va. — A new brunch option is coming to Norfolk, as restaurant chain Biscuit Belly opens a new location in the Lambert's Point area.
The Kentucky-based restaurant specializes in gourmet biscuit breakfast sandwiches and boozy beverages, and boasts a "bright, modern environment." It was founded in Louisville in 2019 and opened a location in Chesapeake last year.
The new Virginia location is set to open at 2401 Hampton Boulevard in The Railyard at Lambert’s Point, a multi-million-dollar development currently under construction that will offer spaces for retail, offices, entertainment and dining. A spokesperson told 13News Now that the restaurant will likely open in late February or early March.
“We’re thrilled to finally have nailed down the addresses for our newest locations in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina,” said Chad Coulter, Founder and CEO of Biscuit Belly, in a press release. “We’re confident in our partners abilities to uphold the standards we set ourselves to of bringing a better brunch experience and damn good biscuits to communities throughout the country.”
The building the restaurant is moving into is 80 years old and used to be home to Hogshire Industries, which produced ship sails and business awnings.
"We love restoration projects like these which have soul and history behind them," said Clint Umphrey, operating partner for DGB. "They just have a level of uniqueness that you can't get in a new strip-center which is why it is a perfect fit for our unique brand and menu. We have enjoyed working with Meredith Construction to bring Biscuit Belly to life in their center."
Similar to the Chesapeake location, the Norfolk location will feature an engagement wall.
Fan favorites on the menu include the Rockwell Supreme, the Goat and the Bennie.
Biscuit Belly has more than 10 locations across Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and Alabama, plus the location in Chesapeake. There are seven locations currently under construction, including the Norfolk location and several in the Carolinas. They hope to expand into Northern Virginia as early as Fall 2024.
