Wife of killed Wawa employee speaks about her loss

"My world is shattered without her in it,” said Suzanne Stiglets, the wife of the Wawa employee who was killed in Norfolk outside of her work Sunday night.

NORFOLK, Va. — A woman was killed just outside her workplace Sunday night and her family is devastated.

"My world is shattered without her in it. She was the most beautiful soul that I had ever met, and I don't know what to do,” said Suzanne Stiglets, the wife of the woman who was killed.

Police received a call around 11 p.m. Sunday night for a shooting at 975 East Little Creek Road. When they arrived, officers found 38-year-old Helena B. Stiglets suffering from a gunshot wound in her car, which was parked at Wawa where she worked.

Stiglets later succumbed to her injuries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Helena’s wife Suzanne said doesn’t know what to do now.

"I don't know why you had to do this, but you've changed my life forever and not for the better. I don't wish hate on anybody, but there has to be punishment for that,” said Suzanne.

Officers arrested Andre Brinkley, 20, and Shonquial Hamlin, 21, Monday. Brinkley and Hamlin face charges of Second-Degree Murder, Robbery, Carjacking, Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.

Suzanne said that she just wants answers from those involved.

Brinkley and Hamlin are scheduled to be in court on July 22nd.
