NORFOLK, Va. — Editor's note: This story is a part of our "Friday Flavor" series.
Eric Nelson said he opened Crudo Nudo to bring unique dishes to Norfolk.
"It's part of my life, so it's not really a job," Nelson said.
You may have driven by the restaurant on 21st Street and not noticed.
"People are like, I've driven by that for four years and never come in and it's like, why not," Nelson laughed.
This place is worth a stop.
"Crudo is Spanish for raw and so we do a lot of fresh raw seafood," Nelson smiled.
They also make their pasta in-house. Hence the name, Crudo Nudo. The dishes are delicate yet filling and flavorful.
For those of you who are scared to step out of your comfort zone, they have more than raw seafood.
The Spinach & Goat Cheese Agnolotti was one of 13News Now's favorites.
The Taste of Spain is also a favorite dish and great to share with friends. "Everybody who comes in gets the taste of Spain," Nelson said. If you get the Taste of Spain platter, get the carrots with harissa yogurt. The harissa yogurt is perfectly spiced. It's delicious.
Nelson's favorite part is watching you enjoy your food. "It sounds cliché, but you get to see how they react. You get to see the eyes closed or the oh my God, that was good," he nodded.
If you want to have that experience at Crudo Nudo, you can visit them at 727 West 21st Street, Norfolk, VA 23517.
