Bentley & Friends: Subscription boxes for your pup

We try out subscription companies offering toys, treats and food for your pup!

NORFOLK, Va. — Nowadays, there are subscription boxes for literally everything, from razors to candy to wine. Those are all for humans. So how about boxes of toys, treats and even food that your pet can subscribe to?

They’re out there and booming in popularity!

Traditionally as a pet parent, we’ve gotten used to driving to the pet store to pick out some cool toys we think our pets would like, some new treats to try and even to lug a massive bag of food out the door and back home.

But, what if you didn’t have to spend any time at all doing that? What if it was all delivered to your door, monthly? I’m talking about toys, treats, food, all of it. Would you be interested?

Welcome to the world of pet subscription boxes. There are dozens out there but here are just a few: Bark Box and Super Chewer, Bullymake, Pet Treater and Pupbox

These boxes carry a variety of new toys and, in most cases, organic treats. We even found some other accessories like birthday cake mix!

What about the price point? These boxes cost between $15 and $40 per month, which includes shipping. For the number of products you get, it is well worth it. And remember, it's delivered right to your home!

So which box was Bentley’s pick? Pet Treater takes the win with the stuffed octopus!

OK, so we’ve talked about toys and treat boxes. What about getting your dog's food delivered to your door?

We’re not talking kibble here. Companies like The Farmer’s Dog, Pet Plate, and Spot & Tango offer amazing alternatives to the traditional dry kibble and it is so much better for your dog!

First up: The Farmer’s Dog. Their food is tested on humans! It’s that good! The meal plan is designed by a veterinary nutritionist. You fill out some information about your dog, their health, age, weight and get a customized plan delivered to your door for about $3 a day. Keep in mind that this is all dependent on your dog's age and weight.

Next is Spot & Tango, a unique mixture of natural ingredients that your dog will truly enjoy. Bentley enjoyed his sample of these meals for sure. Similar cost as well between $2 and $3 a day.

Finally, Pet Plate. The really cool thing about this company is the way the food is shipped to you in resealable plastic containers! Genius! They stack well in the fridge or freezer and can be split between meals without having to use the entire container at once. The average price per meal is around $3 as well.

So if you’re looking for the added convenience of home delivery, there are plenty of options out there for your dog! Enjoy!
