There are plenty of events happening to keep you and your family busy this Halloween weekend.

NORFOLK, Va. — There are plenty of events happening to keep you and your family busy across Hampton Roads this Halloween weekend.

Starting in Newport News: you don’t even have to get out of your car to enjoy this exciting Halloween display. The Stern Family is known for its epic Christmas lights, but they also light up their neighborhood with an impressive Halloween light show.

Drive down the 100 block of Sheffield Way in Newport News to see it every night from dusk until 9:45 p.m. through Halloween night.

Saturday in Norfolk, it’s Frightmare on Waterside Drive: Fears & Phobias. There will be live entertainment, a silent disco, and a major costume contest with a $5,000 cash prize. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. at Waterside District, and you will need to purchase tickets.

On Sunday, the Chrysler Museum of Art is hosting its Halloween Harvest Festival. From noon until 5 p.m., museum staff will become living works of art, dressed in all sorts of festive costumes. You and your kids are encouraged to dress up too, and the event is free to everyone.

Over in Virginia Beach, enjoy a sky-high good time at the Virginia Aquarium – it’s Glow in the Park. The last Creepy Glow night at the adventure park featuring scary decorations and Halloween-themed music is Friday night, October 27. Spaces are limited and climbing tickets are $55 a person.

Finally, if you’re looking to help our furry friends, Halloween Spells Good Omen for Black Cats: PETA is offering free Spay/Neuter surgeries at mobile clinics in two locations: the Tractor Supply on Pruden Blvd in Suffolk, and the Brittingham-Midtown Community Center in Newport News. Both events happen on Halloween day and appointments are required.
