CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Deputies from the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office are delivering some holiday cheer to those in need.
The sheriff's office held its annual "Holiday Basket Delivery" on Wednesday morning. Undersheriff David Rosado and deputies dropped off about 100 holiday baskets to local seniors and families in need.
The baskets were filled with non-perishable foods that were donated by the Walmart Supercenter on Hillcrest Parkway and included cooked hams, pies, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, sweet potato yams, Walmart gift cards, and more.
The basket deliveries are being done to make sure that the elderly people and families in Chesapeake can enjoy their holiday season.
It's the 35th year Chesapeake deputies are making the deliveries.
