NORFOLK, Va. — Summer break means many students will miss out on consistent meals they were receiving at school. Fortunately, free meals will be available to children in some Hampton Roads cities over the next couple of months.
As part of the Summer Food Service Program, the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore will provide children free breakfast, lunch, or afternoon snacks in Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Accomack on the Eastern Shore.
Free meals will be available beginning June 17 until early to mid-August. Meals will be provided Monday through Friday on a first-come, first-serve basis.
