VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Inna Ivaniuk opened The Veranda in Virginia Beach with her husband Marion in September 2023.
"Marion always wanted to be the chef of his own place," Ivaniuk told 13News Now. "We have two little girls, so we have to think about their future."
The couple moved from Ukraine nine years ago. Now, their dream of being business owners finally has come true.
"Originally, Veranda is like something cozy, where you can spend good time, sit, and relax," Ivaniuk said. "I guess this location and the way this space is just perfect for the name. We are Veranda," she smiled.
You'll come for the good vibes, but you will stay for the food.
"Pretty much everything that we do here, everything is homemade," Ivaniuk said.
Their homemade pasta is what draws people in. It is made fresh daily, and it is delicious. They serve a few different pasta dishes, each one with its own taste and sauce. They are all delicious.
"The go-to in our menu, I think, is our famous lasagna, our popular seafood pasta," Ivaniuk added.
You can step out of your comfort zone and go a little more European.
"We have chicken liver pate, so it's like you either have to be a fan of it or not," Ivaniuk said.
They also have many desserts! You have got to try Inna's chestnut cookies. They are delectable.
No matter what you try, you'll probably be coming back for the pasta. "Any time of the year, pasta is good," Ivaniuk laughed.
The Veranda is located at 401 North Great Neck Rd #129, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23454.
