SUFFOLK, Va. — Gourmet Burger Bistro is expanding to another Hampton Roads city, holding a grand opening for its latest location over the weekend.
The bistro opened its new Downtown Suffolk location Saturday, inviting residents and Mayor Michael Dunham to come enjoy a juicy burger.
"Home of the 'Empire Burger' and our famous 'Sticky Wings.' All of your food is always cooked to order, from fresh hand cut french fries to hand-pressed burgers, you're sure to find that we take pride in serving some of the best food in 'The 757,'" the restaurant's website reads.
Now, Gourmet Burger Bistro is bringing that unique flavor to 202 East Washington Street.
"Gourmet Burger Bistro aims to enhance the dining scene in Downtown Suffolk with its menu featuring gourmet burgers crafted with premium ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Offering both traditional favorites and unique creations, Gourmet Burger Bistro promises something for every taste," according to a release from the Suffolk Economic Development.
But burgers aren't the only thing the bistro is serving up. The place also has shrimp and rice bowls.
Owner Major Mahoney told 13News Now in a previous interview that he wants customers to have a sense of friendship and family upon walking in the door.
“When it comes to the bistro it’s all about family," Mahoney said in 2021.
The restaurant first opened in Portsmouth with a location on High Street West.
