FRIDAY FLAVOR: BoBo's Fine Chicken in Virginia Beach

Where traditional southern cuisine recipes go back four generations; Bo himself is serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Open for almost two years, Bo Midgett and his team came up with BoBo's Fine Chicken, a place where fast food meets local family recipes.

"This is local food. This is Virginia cooking so we wanted to create a restaurant that really doesn't exist around here, but do it in a way that everyone can eat here," said owner Bo Midgett.

You'll find them inside the Old Charlie's Seafood building in Virginia Beach.

"Charlie's seafood family chose Bo, because they knew he's family-oriented like they were, and hopefully next generation will be BoBo's and the next generation after that," said front-end manager Kathy Fitzpatrick.

Quick, affordable and wholesome, that's how Bo and his team describe their restaurant and it lives up to its name as it is fine chicken indeed!

"I think his bone-in fried chicken is the best fried chicken that you will taste. He brines it and it's the only chicken that I have found that I can eat four or five days a week and not be sick of it," said customer turned employee Roy Orleans.

The most popular things are bone-in chicken. Two-piece white or two-piece dark. If you get a meal, it will come with two sides.

Sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, homemade biscuits, mash potatoes with gravy and collards and if you're craving something sweet try their freshly squeezed lemonade and limeade.

Their freshly made ice cream is a big seller too.

"Some people come here and they just get ice cream and those flavors change seasonally too," said Midgett.
