NORFOLK, Va. — Crews with Hampton Fire & Rescue saved a horse that was struck in a creek Thursday night.
Officials say they were alerted to a horse stuck in mud in a creek around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday. It is unknown how long the horse was stuck in that location. Hampton officials say mutual aid from Suffolk was called in to assist with the rescue for their "equine rescue expertise."
The horse, named Tango, was removed from the mud around 9:20 p.m. with a vet on the scene.
Hampton officials say the next morning Tango was standing on her own and was quickly on the way to "rejoining her equine friends in the pasture."
