VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach SPCA took in 29 dogs that need new homes this weekend.
On Saturday, workers with the shelter picked up the dogs in Richmond as part of a large-scale transfer organized by the Bissell Pet Foundation.
The dogs were part of a larger group of 170 animals surrendered to the National Mill Dog Rescue from commercial breeders.
VBSPCA officials said the dogs are currently settled in at the shelter and will become available for adoption in the coming days. When they are ready for adoption, eligible pets will be posted on the VBSPCA's website.
